Can we compare Adam Mickiewicz to immigrants currently living in Poland? Are reasons for their migration different from those that Mickiewicz had? Is the country, where they start the new chapter of their lives, is better? Does this change make them happy?
Many people think that in other place, other country, world is more beautiful. It is different for sure, but is it always more beautiful? Can the things we encounter make us happy? Sometimes we don’t have a choice. Especially, if we choose to leave because we can loose health or life if we stay. No matter what is the reason for our journeys, new places give us a lot of new experience. Only we can decide how we will use it.
During our meeting we will see traditional Turkish shadow play, ballad “Renegat”(The Renegade) by Adam Mickiewicz and we will talk about Mickiewicz as an emigrant. Thank to a workshop we will meet community from different culture and we will share our thoughts and observations with our guest – an immigrant who finally found his way to Poland.
