According to the new law concerning legal stay in Poland, every migrant is obliged to be fingerprinted on his application in order to get the permission to stay legally in Poland. Fingerprints are taken in order to check personal data in Schengen Information System (SIS).
The obligation of being fingerprinted concerns all adult foreigners and children above the age of six. Fingerprints are taken during the visit in the office. If a migrant does not hand the form on his/her own, he/she has to complete the fingerprinting duty no longer than 7 days after handing the application in the office.
